Ich habe sehr lange gebraucht um in das Buch reinzukommen. Es scheint keinen durchgehenden Erzählstrang zu geben. Hauptfigur ist Mary Murphy, die Leiterin des Ministeriums für die Zukunft. Ihre Geschichte wird ständig unterbrochen mit Erzählungen über andere Personen, die nur einmal erscheinen. Oder durch Einschübe die wie ein Sachbuch wirken mit Daten und Fakten. Wenn man sich an den Stil gewöhnt hat, ist das Buch sehr spannend. Der Autor zeigt einige radikale Ideen für eine mögliche, bessere Zukunft. Ich fände es spannend die umgesetzt zu sehen.

La narration éclatée et le format finalement assez catalogue m'ont un peu frustrée, sans doute en raison des attentes de lectrice que je pouvais avoir. Mais c'est un récit incontestablement stimulant, y compris justement en raison des frustrations, des interrogations et des réactions (critiques) qu'il peut susciter chez la personne qui le lit, à propos d'enjeux très divers : sur le rôle de la technologie, du capitalisme et plus largement du système économique, peut-être un peu moins sur l'évolution des représentations et des imaginaires même si on y trouve aussi des pistes. Bref, un livre important par son thème et son actualité. On m'a suggéré sur mastodon qu'il fallait peut-être le voir comme une forme de fiction "porte d'entrée" sur le sujet ; ce qui, en soi, est déjà important.
